Our multibanking business is a major component of the corporate financial landscape, moving 400 million transactions a year for a total of 2500 Billion euros. A lot is moving in this area with new legislations and new technologies challenging the status quo.

The key challenge for the IT Operations teams is to have applications and infrastructure robust enough to handle these volumes while at the same time have the agility and speed to market of a Fintech.
A lot of new business initiatives are being launched and are supported by adopting state-of-the-art technologies and new methodologies. Hybrid Cloud, PaaS and DevOps principles are good examples of how the IT Operations team is supporting in the business needs for faster and easier go-to-market.
We are currently looking for a monitoring engineer to implement, maintain and support monitoring tools, standards and methodologies for various technological stacks across our operational environments.
Your role
As Monitoring Engineer, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Implement, maintain and support monitoring tools across our operational environments (pre-prod and prod)
• You ensure that the service is monitored, and that proper alerting is implemented. To achieve this, you need to combine application and system monitoring into a cohesive setup.
• When implementing new products and technologies, you will provide your objective evaluation and substantiate your arguments for supporting the new product or technology.
• You help in defining standards and methodologies around monitoring. (Application, System, PaaS, IaaS,…)
• Create dashboards, reports and alerts to help the support services in delivering an efficient and effective service to internal and external customers.

Your profile

• You have a previous experience with system and application monitoring and alerting
• Scripting experience (Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python, YAML)
• Basic operating system experience (RHEL, Windows)
• Application Monitoring
• You should have:
• Knowledge of both traditional and up-coming monitoring tools like Nagios, BMC impact manager, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, …
• Knowledge of end-to-end monitoring
• Basic knowledge of SQL scripting
• Knowledge of monitoring containers and cloud environments
• Basic knowledge of infrastructure, meaning, networking (routing, load balancing, firewall), storage (NAS, SAN), virtualization (Vmware, Red Hat Openstack)
• You are eager to learn and adopt new technologies
• You work well as part of a team as on your own
• You are customer oriented and open minded
• You are willing to operate in a duty role
• You are passionate about what you do
